Our Future Plan

The primary focus of the institution’s activities is geared towards education and especially interdisciplinary education. The college encourages its faculty members to take up basic and applied research in different subject areas, especially in education. The research interests of its faculty ranges from cancer research to cognitive development in pre-school children including research in Physics, Mathematics Urbanization, Creative Education in Geography, Indian Writing in English, Computational Chemistry, Bengali Dialects, and Pedagogical Analysis. The institution aims to present it self as a demonstrator rather than a preacher. The college aims to demonstrate – Learning how to learn. It aspires to be a centre of teacher–education, research and development, and to extend its services to the community.

The future plans of the college include

Being one of the most prominent and promising Teachers' Training institution, Siliguri B.Ed. College has planned to start value added courses, sign MOUs with other institutions for better enrichment, utilize its wide cultural diversity to the optimum level, construct new building for opening new courses/ unit and extension of library for better space management, take eco friendly measures for energy conservation, transform the campus into a totally plastic free one, provide more facilities for student support, create more ICT empowered teaching learning environment , assist the faculties for more research work, engage alumni more in various activities, extend more useful services to the community etc.
